BLESMA Support Combined Services Disabled Ski Team (CSDST)

The CSDST are embarking on a season of training/competitions over the next few months. To mark the start of the season, an event was held on 21st October 2009 at the Snow Centre, Hemel Hempstead, to engender publicity and to be presented with a minibus from FORD.

The Assistant General Secretary was present at the event, as BLESMA has helped fund some of the equipment for BLESMA Members who are part of the team, which is most of them!

Stu Pearson, Simon Wiggins, and Mick Brennan have all attended BLESMA Skiing events and Bernie Bambury has attended our Atlantic Sail.

We are delighted for all of them and wish them every success in the forthcoming competitions.

Maj General Kirkland, Chairman of the Army Winter Sports Association, was present and addressed the team. He also thanked the Assistant General Secretary for BLESMA's help in funding equipment, and for the sterling work we do with injured personnel.
