The Rt Hon David Cameron MP - Prime Minister of the UK has expressed his support for the Soldier Ride UK.

The Soldier Ride UK group stopped on their way to the start of their epic 10 day cycle ride to pay their respects at the National Memorial Arboretum, which commemorates those who have given their lives in the service of their country.

A group of thirty Amputee veterans from the UK and the US Wounded Warrior Project are embarking on a ten day cycling challenge - Soldier Ride UK - to raise awareness for BLESMA and the ABF Soldier's Charity.

On Easter Saturday 23 April 2011 there will be a Charity Rugby Match in aid of Service and Ex-Service Charities at the home of the Rugby Football Union.

The inaugural BLESMA “Soldiering On” Awards Black Tie Ceremony & Dinner will be held at the prestigious Savoy, London on Sunday 20 March 2011 in the presence of the Royal Patrons of BLESMA and wonderful array of celebrity guests and senior military ranks from all three Services.  Go to our 'Events' page for full details. 

December in Breckenridge and just breathing at 10-12,000 ft is difficult enough, but for two triple, six double and six single amputees and a BLESMA Welfare Officer, snow sports - no problem.  The BLESMA group this year covered almost all adaptive ski disciplines - ski, snowboard, mono ski, bi ski, 3-track and skibob.

The On Course Foundation has been created to offer injured men and women, who are retired or still serving in the military, the opportunity to play golf and/or work within the industry.

At the AGM the Membership elected a new Trustee to the Board – Lt Gen Sir Cedric Delves KBE DSO. He is a Member in his own right and has strong interest in all matters prosthetic and in lifelong support for veterans. 

This fantastic event is run by Disabled Sports USA with many U.S. Wounded Warriors attending.

The inaugural Blesma Fishing match took place on the 9th June at Lakeview Fisheries, Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire. Amputee Blesma members fished for 5 hours in perfect conditions with everyone catching fish.

D-Day 44, the ultimate all-terrain charity run, will take place on 6th June in Normandy. Now in its third year, the 44-mile run is mapped across 5 beach heads used by the allies on D-Day.

 Twelve limbless ex service men are embarking on a four-day motorcycle challenge to rival the exploits of Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman.

 3 Commando Brigade returned from Afghanistan in April after a six month tour of duty. 37 comrades were killed in action, 169 were wounded in action and 379 suffered non-battle related injuries. The challenge has raised £15,000 for BLESMA to date.

 In 2004, author Chris Hunter served his country as an Explosive Ordnance Disposal operator in Iraq. If that wasn’t daring enough, he is now attempting to run the London marathon wearing a 75lb protective Explosive Ordnance Disposal suit to raise money for the British Limbless Ex Service Men’s Association (BLESMA). 

 Colin Rouse was made MBE in Her Majesty's New Year Honours List for Services to BLESMA. This much deserved recognition for his huge contribution to our growing rehabilitation activity has been widely welcomed across the Association.

 For the third year BLESMA are proud to have been invited by the Disabled Sports USA/Wounded Warrior project to take part in their Winter Sports Extravaganza at Breckenridge, Colorado.
