Ex Serviceman adds weight to the London Marathon

In 2004, author Chris Hunter served his country as an Explosive Ordnance Disposal operator in Iraq. If that wasn’t daring enough, he is now attempting to run the London marathon wearing a 75lb protective Explosive Ordnance Disposal suit to raise money for the British Limbless Ex Service Men’s Association (BLESMA). 

 Whilst serving in Iraq, two members of Chris’s team were hit by a powerful suicide car bomb and both lost their legs above the knee.  By running this year’s marathon he hopes to raise £100,000 for BLESMA and his two friends Corporals Mick Brennan and Neil Heritage, who their lost limbs. Helping him to raise this amount will be former Parachute Regiment soldier, Ian Madgett.
