Develop the Confidence, Skills, and Mindset to Support Others—Within Blesma and Beyond
This pathway offers you the opportunity to acquire practical mentoring and peer support skills that can significantly impact others. Whether you are already providing informal support, curious about doing more, or considering mentoring or support work as a future career, this program is designed for you.
You will learn how to support others safely and effectively, gain a clear understanding of the mentoring role, and discover how to use your own life experiences constructively and confidently.
The course consists of six online sessions. While we encourage you to attend all six sessions to build a comprehensive skill set, we offer flexibility—you can also join individual sessions if that suits you better.
What You’ll Learn
● What mentoring is, what it isn’t, and how to hold the role safely
● How to use your identity and lived experience in a healthy, supportive way
● Active listening and the kind of questioning that helps others think clearly
● Setting boundaries and recognising when to signpost
● Understanding what helps people stay motivated and move forward
● Building simple wellness plans and developing your own reflective practice
Your Programme Lead
Teresa Griffiths CBE ARRC, — Veteran & Executive Leadership Coach
Having coached Blesma Members as part of the Blesma Storytelling and Wellbeing Programme on topics such as 'Imposter Syndrome' and 'Handling Difficult Conversations', Executive Leadership Coach Teresa Griffiths brings an understanding of military life, coaching practice, and the needs of the Blesma community.
All sessions in this peer mentoring series will take place online, making them accessible from any location.
