About the Event

Waterskiing is an adrenaline-pumping sport which lets you glide, carve, and skim across the water! Holding onto a tow rope, you’ll be pulled behind a waterski boat, skimming the surface as you master the art of balance and control. Every moment is packed with excitement. It’s the perfect mix of speed, skill, and splash, guaranteed to leave you enjoying the thrill of the ride.

What is the activity about?

Waterskiing is a high-energy, adrenaline-filled sport where participants glide, carve, and skim across the water while being towed behind a boat. It combines balance, control, and speed for an exciting and immersive experience. This session is designed to introduce Members to the sport in a safe and supportive adaptive environment.

Do I need prior water-skiing experience?

No. The event is suitable for complete beginners as well as Members with some previous experience. Instructors will provide guidance and adapt techniques based on each participant’s ability.

What adaptive support will be available?

You will have experienced instructors in the water with you or on the boatclose to you. All methods provide stability to assist with balance. As you progress, we’llreduce the level of support. It’s a great setting, with everything on-site.

What should I bring on the day?

Participants should bring:

  • Swimwear

  • A towel

  • A change of clothes

  • Personal medication

  • Sun protection.

All essential waterskiing equipment (including life jackets and wetsuits) will be provided.

Can I bring a carer or support person?

Yes. Carers or support workers may attend if required. Please inform the Events Team in advance so arrangements can be made.

How physically demanding is the activity?

Waterskiing can be exertive, but adaptive equipment significantly reduces strain. Instructors will tailor the session to individual capabilities and comfort levels.
